This presentation will focus on ways to effectively use direct response as a piece of your overall Fundraising Strategy.  We will look at when to use direct response, email, social media and direct contact strategies.  Today the “one size fits all communications strategy”  is not enough we must understand the cycle of communications and customize our messaging based on the intended recipient.

Learning Objectives:

•    Understanding the Cycle of Communications (Invite, Inform, Engage, Thank You)
•    Knowing when is the most effective time to use direct response, email or social media.
•    Understanding WHO you are talking to and WHAT you want to say to them.  
•    The power of Storytelling “speaking to the recipient” in every exchange.
•    An overview of preferred communications methods by generation.

About Our Presenter:

Debbie joined Academy for Grassroots Organizations in 2003 as a volunteer, serving on the Board of Directors and as its Chairperson for two years.  She joined the staff in 2008. 

Her current responsibilities include marketing, social media, membership development, and networking.

Prior to joining AcademyGO, Debbie worked in corporate America in management level positions where she specialized in highly personalized one-to-one marketing programs, training and product development and emerging communications technology.

During her ten years working for the Database Marketing Group in Tustin, Debbie helped grow the company from a startup to being recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in the country by INC. Magazine. Over the years, she has received recognition for both her professional and volunteer activities, including the 2009 Inspiring Woman by Daily Press and the 2009 Leaping Leader Award by KFROG. In 2010, Debbie was named Citizen of the Year and the Inland Empire Fundraising Professional of the Year.  In 2016, Debbie received the Inland Empire Community Champion of the Year by Association of Fundraising Professionals at National Philanthropy Day.

Locally Debbie serves on the Association of Fundraising Professionals as Immediate Past President and Oak Hills Municipal Advisory Council, on behalf of the First District County of San Bernardino.

Debbie also proudly served as a Marine during the Vietnam campaign.
