DAMIEN HIGH SCHOOL SEEKING
DIRECTOR OF ADVANCEMENT
Damien High School in La Verne, a Catholic all-boys college preparatory distinguished for its academic and athletic accomplishments, seeks a Director of Advancement to design and lead a strategic advancement program. The position reports to a newly-appointed President, the first lay chief executive in the school’s 60-year history. The Director will work closely with the Principal and the school’s Consultative Board of Directors. He/she will supervise a current staff of three working in alumni relations, corporate/foundation relations, and records management. Damien has more than 12,000 supportive alumni.
- Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree is preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in a comprehensive non-profit fundraising program, personally asking for gifts and directing the activities of leadership in solicitations
- Ability to use office database, computers and software to track and identify existing and potential donor opportunities
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and participate in overnight travel
The ideal candidate will have experience supervising the work of others, managing a successful capital campaign, and working within the Catholic tradition of education.
